BBC Friday 14 February 2014 – Guest Dawn Shaw, On Adversity & Innovation In Business & Life

This Friday, we have a very exciting visiting guest speaker, Dawn Shaw, owner and operator of Lone Cedar Icelandic Horses ranch. But horse-craft is not all that Dawn does and lives.

Dawn Shaw, Author, gifted storyteller, horse trainer & gentler, human from Earth and business innovator, Dawn has been keynote speaker at a number of local area venues on such topics as: “Facing Up to It: Turning Adversity into Advantage,” “Living Beyond the Reflection,” “Differences Drive Innovation,” and “The Worth of Worthiness.” She has also worked with sometime BBC regular and master executive coach Dan Weedin (danweedin.com).

Innovation out of difficulty: “You never know where the next good idea will come from; it might be from the person you least expect. Different cultures, upbringings and life experiences provide each person with a unique view of the world, including a variety of ways to problem-solve and innovate. I increase the ability of managers and employers to recognize the value in all kinds of employees and encourage them to chisel and polish those diamonds in the rough.”

Storytelling embodies the BBC ideal. Business stories and life stories mix and mingle at BBC. And Dawn Shaw embodies that ideal.
