BBC Friday 17 January 2020, Communicating Across Differences, w/ Cilla Utne

This BBC Friday, Cilla Utne, owner and president of Cross Cultural Journeys, will share with us on how to more effectively communicate across differences of culture, ethnicity, and traditions.

As our world gets increasingly polarized, do you ever find that your communication and interaction with others doesn’t seem to give you the desired response, or even A response? How often do you consider the context of your communication to have an impact on the recipient? Do you ever reflect how your own communication style may get in the way of you actually connecting with the other party?

Cilla Utne’s Cross Cultural Journeys is a purpose travel company based on Bainbridge Island. With an undergraduate from Stockholm University in intercultural studies, business and language, and an MBA in sustainability from Presidio Graduate School (formerly BGI), Cilla worked for two decades as a a cross-cultural consultant and trainer for C-suite executives as they prepared for living and working overseas. From time to time, she still freelances as a trainer for T-mobile, Nestle, and Ericsson in Seattle. Cilla’s contact info: crossculturaljourneys.com[email protected] | 800.353.2276 | 206.280.5360
