BBC Friday 27 September 2013 – “Business Case Study” – Christy Dorman, Instructor In Art Of Movement

This Friday we will support local business person Christy Dorman, roundtabling the question “Should I change the name of my business?

Should I change the name of my business? What a great question! As always with BBC Strategy Roundtables, using one person’s business as a case study actually puts on the table for discussion questions and issues that have broader implications for many of us BBCites.

Bring your business vision and innovation with you — this is BBC at its most curious, interesting, fun, and helpful to all.

Christy Dorman is a friend of BBC Regular & Steering Committee member Annette Walker (astonishinc.com)Christy wants to decide this question soon, because she’s getting ready to move off of blogspot and have a “real” website which leads into the related questions of: “What’s a good domain name?” “How do I pick a domain name when the one I want is taken?”  Unfortunately artofmovement.com is taken, and she has to come up with something. Adding an additional word makes it a bit long. Christy’s current website: spiralchristyyogaandpilates.blogspot.com.

Be there, be free, be businesswise. For, in a sense, as serial entrepreneurs, we’re all businesswise!

So invite your friends and associates to join us for this thoughtful, if not just slightly analyticaland yet very exciting BBC event — and another delicious cup of BBC!

Coming In October – OfficeXpats Tuesday@Noon Workshops, “World Of WarCraft…er…Wordpress”: (officexpats.com/the-world-of-wordpress). Workshops for WordPress are back for Tuesdays@noon in October! Our most popular sessions by far, WordPress was last offered in February (by Annette Walker). This time, we’ve recruited Eric Amundson, owner of IvyCat Web Services, and one of the organizers of WordCamp Seattle. Eric is well-known in the WordPress Meetup circuits, and he actually recognized me as one of the many people who came up to the “happiness bar” where he was doing his stint as a WordPress advisor! Come learn how WordPress can be used for not only blogging posts but also for complete company websites that can be easily updated. This will NOT be a step-by-step workshop, but rather a survey class. You are welcome to bring your laptops and explore as we go, but we will not be providing hands-on technical support during the sessions. For all you Type A’s, you will find links where Eric has already blogged on the WordPress topic. Register Now at officexpats.com/the-world-of-wordpress.
