This BBC Friday features special guest Senator Christine Rolfes who will give us an update on Business In Washington. There will be time for Q&A, so bring your fun and innovative business questions, ideas, or thoughts to share.
Christine is a University Of Washington graduate, Master of Public Administration, Graduate School of Public Affairs. From 1995 to 1999 she was Project Manager and Business Development Officer for the U.S. Agency for International Development, where she counseled Northwest businesses and organizations on humanitarian assistance and commercial opportunities overseas. Christine also spent time at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow managing environmental and economic development projects for USAID. From 2000-2006 she worked as a council member for the City of Bainbridge Island. (Christine On LinkedIn)
Since her election to the state House of Representatives in 2007, she has served the 23rd Legislative District (central and north Kitsap County) as a leading voice on education funding and reform, small businesses, ferries, military-families and veterans, and the environment. Christine sits on the Early Learning and K-12 Education, Rules and Ways & Means committees in addition to serving as Senate Democratic floor leader. She also serves on several task forces and select committees, including the Joint Select Task Force on Nuclear Energy, the Education Funding Task Force, and the Joint Committee on Veterans’ and Military Affairs.
