BBC Friday @ The Library – 19 August 2011

We’ll be meeting for this BBC Friday at the Bainbridge Island Library again.

This Friday morning, BBC will not meet at Flowering Around but at the Bainbridge Library. Jeanne Ream will be guiding us in the use of Library Databases, where we will explore accessing and using the databases to enhance business productivity, connectivity, and … well, who knows.

From Jeanne: I encourage participants to bring their laptops, and I’ll be on hand to show them how to access our wireless network. There are three kinds of tasks I plan to highlight using these databases:

  • Business and Company Resource Center — In-depth company profiles, products, brands, rankings, investment research.
  • Proquest Magazines & Newspapers — From the Wall Street Journal and New York Times daily to Barron’s, read it right on your desktop.
  • Reference USA — Business and Personal Directories: customize your own contact lists for market research, job hunting, personal use.

Also, if you have time before hand, check out our Small Business Tools website: http://www.krl.org/index.php/adults/small-business-tools

Note: Because we’re meeting at the Library this Friday, remember to BYOB, bring your own coffee/tea/snacks. You might stop by Roosters Coffee or Flowering Around or another business on the way to the Library to buy your breakfast drink etc.

See you this Friday for your Morning Cup Of BBC @ The Library.

7:30-8:00 – coffee/tea, visiting, informal networking
8:00-8:30 using library databases
8:30-9:00 – more networking, sharing, visiting
