Still Three Sessions to go! Now more than ever, it’s within anyone’s reach to write, produce, and publish a book, and it turns out to be a great way to build your business and your credibility as an independent professional. With self-publishing (also called “alternative” or “independent” publishing), the author is responsible for the entire process, including design (cover/interior), formats, price, distribution, marketing and PR. Authors can do it all themselves or outsource all or part of the process. In this workshop series, Randy Kuckuck, founder of PublishNext, along with some of the company’s editorial and design experts return to help us explore how small businesses can navigate some of the choices and issues. Xpat regulars Dave Kragen, Izzy Sanchez, and Annette Walker will also contribute. Session II, June 11, 12-1 pm: The economics of publishing your book. Session III, June 18, 12-1 pm: Designing a book to be your best advertising piece. Session IV, June 25, 12-1 pm: The submission process, and marketing your book. (
