BBC Friday 7 June 2013 – “Creating The Business You Want – PART II” w/ David Franklin

Join us this BBC Friday where David Franklin leads us in PART II of “Creating the Business You Want”

Last time David introduced some practical business building skills for generating good questions to catalyze growth and stay focused on the “big picture.”

In this hands-on session, David will continue the discussion on the experiential components of being a successful entrepreneur:

  • Buidling on your business’ strengths through asking the right questions
  • Moving towards your potential instead of staying stuck in problem-solving mode
  • Setting clear goals to ensure accountability and success

You’ll leave the session with:

  • Clarity around how to take your business to the next level
  • Tools for engaging your employees and customers in helping your business thrive
  • Strategies for creating more collaboration and teamwork in your business

With 20 years in the field, David Franklin has vast experience in teaching, facilitating, and coaching hundreds of people in seminars, groups, and private sessions. David holds a Masters Degree from LIOS Graduate College of Saybrook University in Organizational Systems: Leadership and Organizational Development and brings twenty-five years of combined experience as an entrepreneur, business owner, manager, administrator, and employee to lead from experience in his work with clients (DavidFranklin.org).

June – OfficeXpats Tuesday@Noon Workshop – “The Self Publishing workshop returns! (noon-1:00)
Still Three Sessions to go! Now more than ever, it’s within anyone’s reach to write, produce, and publish a book, and it turns out to be a great way to build your business and your credibility as an independent professional. With self-publishing (also called “alternative” or “independent” publishing), the author is responsible for the entire process, including design (cover/interior), formats, price, distribution, marketing and PR. Authors can do it all themselves or outsource all or part of the process. In this workshop series, Randy Kuckuck, founder of PublishNext, along with some of the company’s editorial and design experts return to help us explore how small businesses can navigate some of the choices and issues. Xpat regulars Dave Kragen, Izzy Sanchez, and Annette Walker will also contribute. Session II, June 11, 12-1 pm: The economics of publishing your book. Session III, June 18, 12-1 pm: Designing a book to be your best advertising piece. Session IV, June 25, 12-1 pm: The submission process, and marketing your book. (officexpats.com/self-publishing-for-revenue-and-business-building/)
