Carolyn Olberg and Dave Kragen – Retirement and Writting!

Friday’s speakerssharing the spotlight — are Carolyn Olberg (Financial Advisor) and Dave Kragen (Writer Extraordinaire). While considering what I was going to say about our two speakers this Friday, I was reminded why we started this group of local businesses “Connecting in a New Way” in the first place.

I met Carolyn Olberg while joining, attending and eventually leading another Networking Group that met on the island on Tuesday mornings. To make a long story short, the group of entrepreneurs quickly became each others “board of directors” and through the groups energy and powerful idea generating sessions we hatched the idea for the “Bainbridge Business Connection” – originally called BISBER by Dave Kragen who drafted the first charter.

Carolyn Olberg and my long time friend Dave Kragen have been my guiding lights through this entrepreneurial journey ever since. Carolyn with her no nonsense approach to getting things done and Dave’s sense of humor and philosophical approach to all things interesting have kept me powered up for the challenges I faced with managing multiple small businesses and several non-profit social networking groups.

So why am I blathering on about my friends and colleagues? Because this is PRECISELY why the Bainbridge Business Connection exists; bringing Bainbridge Island Business owners to that personal level of networking that encourages a proactive sales force for each other,  all the while becoming a solid place to come home to when challenges arise in this difficult market place.

So this Friday, November 6th, 2009 come to the Blue Ocean Cafe and find out why we all meet, every Friday morning! Carolyn Olberg will be providing us pointers on choosing the best retirement programs, and Dave Kragen will give a talk about putting the fun back into business writing.   Don’t miss your morning cup of BBC!
